My Favourite Quotes

I love the sound of a great quote in the morning!  It’s amazing how the words that someone may have used a thousand years ago, can still resonate with the issues we face today.

Here’s a selection of my personal favourites.

Learning by Experience

Don’t tell the child that the pot is hot. The pot will tell him – African proverb

Treatment of Others

Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can – John Wesley

Where there is no struggle, there is no strength – Oprah Winfrey

Persistence

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew to serve your turn long after they are gone, and so hold on when there is nothing in you, except the will which says to them ‘Hold on!’ – from ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling

Success

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed - MIchael Jordan
